Chrissie Bonner uses illustration to tell stories, to inspire, to challenge, to help people connect and to have fun.  She believes that creative environments cost nothing, foster true innovation and create happy people.

Originally from Norfolk, VA, she moved to Philadelphia, PA in 1999 to pursue her dream of growing dreadlocks and taking the subway.  In doing so she also studied art history at Temple University (BA), arts administration at Drexel University (MS) and organizational development and leadership at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM) (CAGS).

She applied her education and interests to a career in institutional philanthropy and capacity-building for more than 200 nonprofit organizations in the Greater Philadelphia area from 2007 to 2015.

She currently lives in Philadelphia and enjoys a career as an illustrator, teacher and organizational development and leadership consultant.

Chrissie uses illustration to educate and invite people to think differently.  She has created storyboards and infographics for works of fiction and nonfiction, editorials and picture books.

She recently illustrated Bless This Mess: A Picture Story of Healthcare in America by Dr. Stephen K. Klasko, President and CEO of Thomas Jefferson University and Jefferson Health.

Meeting Design & Facilitation

In 2015 she founded Illustrating Progress, a graphic facilitation practice that uses  creative activities and visuals to help groups plan and learn together.

Her work with Illustrating Progress is rooted in deeper levels of listening, cultivating behaviors and mindsets necessary for transformative change, and supporting dialogue and learning through more creative activities.
